Protecting Children From Abuse,Exploitation and Neglect

Violence against children is a critical concern for the most vulnerable girls and boys everywhere that FHI works. Children who experience violence are often left with long-lasting negative social, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual consequences. We believe a world without violence against children is possible. The goal of our child protection program in Ga-East Municipal is to strengthen the protection of boys and girls from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and other forms of violence.

In the Ga-East Municipal, we work to create peaceful homes and environments for girls and boys, protecting. Children, youth, and communities are empowered to prevent and respond to child sexual abuse. We sought to strengthen systems and structures while enhancing the capacity of children and youth.Children deserve and need to live in an environment that prevents violence against them and is ready to respond with love, strength, and expertise when violence occurs.

FHI recognizes that preventing and responding to violence against children cannot happen with standalone interventions or quick solutions.

FHI therefore adopts a systems approach to child protection, addressing violence holistically. Working in the Ga-East Municipal, we aim to strengthen the overall protective environment that children live in, working with key formal and informal actors including local government, parents and caregivers, faith leaders and communities, service providers, community structures, and children themselves. Our goal in the communities we work in is to sustainably reduce all forms of violence against children, leaving behind a strong child protection system of coordinated formal and informal elements working together to prevent and respond to abuse, neglect, exploitation, and other forms of violence against children.
