Fighting the Effects of Climate Change on Women and Girls
Women and girls are often disproportionately impacted by climate change. Women are often responsible for food production and farming activities in areas where we operate. Variations in extreme weather events due to climate change can negatively impact crop yields, decreasing income and food insecurity for women and their families. In the Biakoye District, FHI fights to prevent women and girls from being negatively impacted by climate change, helps them adapt to its effects, and makes sure their voices are heard.
